Long-Short Equity Strategy
The long-short equity strategy is the portfolio management approach that most resembles the one originally followed by the first hedge fund. Like A.W. Jones, the father of hedge funds, long-short equity managers aim at setting up an equity portfolio whose returns are not correlated to market performance, but rather to their stock selection skills.

The rankings 2016 of the hedge funds database HedgeCo.Net

Every year I conduct research of hedge funds rankings in HedgeCo.Net and the ranking of Russian hedge funds. However, at this year I decided not to make these rankings because the ranking agencies in Russia did not give the information. Those funds, which I did a review of in 2015 from the open information sources either left the market or have ceased to publish information.

The Long and Short of Long-Short Dividend Investing
Financial advisors, fill in the blank: retirement ______?  If you said “income,” you have plenty of company.  After all, while many retirees and pre-retirees hope to use their accumulated wealth to leave an estate, give to charity and pursue other goals, the most common concern they have is maintaining a reliable level of cash flow that they can spend.

PIMCO Considers Managed Futures vs. Multi-Strategy Funds
Managed futures and multi-strategy funds have both become increasingly popular over the past several years. Both provide investors with a  potential to diversify their returns, and to outperform during equity-market downturns – but which one is better? That’s the question considered by PIMCO’s Justin Blesy, Ashish Tiwari, and Chris Santore in their July 2016  paper Managed Futures and Multi-Strategy Funds: The Search for Diversification.

Can you use alternatives and reduce fees?
Hedge funds typically charge higher fees than traditional strategies. The industry standard is to charge a management fee of 2% and 20% of the profits generated. This fee structure is one of the primary criticisms that opponents of hedge funds point to. But in reality is it possible to use hedge funds and lower overall fees?

Performances of the first half-year of 2016
There are few Russian hedge funds  and they don’t want to show their performance for public. From foreign hedge funds, the best are American ones, because there is  a big quantity of them.  Long-Short, Global Macro and Option strategies have good performances for the past 3 years. To enter in TOP 10 we have to have return of more than 100% for 3 years in our EAM Stocks&Derivatives Strategies S.P. hedge fund.

Hedge Fund Ranking 2014

Russian SPEAR’s rating of hedge-funds loses its actuality and value due to delays and mistakes. For instance, the last SPEAR’s rating doesn’t provide information about hedge-funds for the 2014 year because it is hard for prospective clients to give value to an opportunity of the investments . I decided to write the research paper about the HedgeCo ratings of hedge-funds. The HedgeCo ratings provide information for about 5 000 hedge-funds.

About audit 2013 for my hedge-fund

If you want to get interested investors to take part in your hedge-found, you should get your audit done by a well-known company. Professional investors work only with well established audit companies. It is highly unlikely that a professional and successful investor would put his money on the line in a company which does not have an audit done by one of the Big Four Firms.
